Teachers in Buenos Aires on Wednesday rejected the offer of 32% increase in annual salary proposed by the provincial government and announced a new strike for Monday, December 3. And not only that: they also claimed that the beginning of clbades was in danger next year.
"If we end up in a conflict, the conflict will continue next year, if that's how it ends, that's how we did not start," said Suteba's director. , Roberto Baradel, a few minutes after the end of the meeting – number 20 – held at the Ministry of Economy of La Plata.
In the night, the masters of the Buenos Aires Teachers' Union Front (FUDB) announced the new measure of strength before the end of the school year which, according to the official calendar, is expected to end on 19 December at the initial and primary levels. and the 12th of this month in high school.
To note that yesterday, the executive of Maria Eugenia Vidal proposed an increase of 32% of the salary of December 2017, 2% more than in the last proposal, which the teachers considered "insufficient".
According to guild estimates, this means an increase of 108 pesos for base salary and 205 pesos on the "pocket" of a clbad teacher who starts.
At the meeting that began around 3 pm and lasted two hours, the province finally proposed a 20 percent increase in six sections for next year.
At the end of the parity, the union representatives were adamant: "This front of the teaching unit is not going to sign a pay-down scheme, which also implies 15 points less than the l 39; inflation, "Baradel told the press. .
And he said that "they close the year with 32% while inflation, at least, will be 47%".
The owner of Suteba for his part pointed out that "in the infrastructure, there are more than 300 schools in the province which, on December 2, will finish 4 months without clbades". "The government has done nothing to solve this situation," he added.
As it did with the rest of the state, the Vidal administration also proposed a fixed amount of 7,000 pesos for active workers and 3,500 pesos for retirees.
FEB President Mirta Petrocini said that "if this is a bonus to alleviate the situation, they implicitly recognize that all the proposals have been rejected".
For its part, the head of Udocba, Miguel Diaz, asked "all union leaders who do not agree with this government with the provincial government, because they will hurt us by providing a salary for the loss ".
"We will meet and we will certainly take a measure of strength," he added.
There were 29 days of unemployment
With the rejection of this proposal, the government of Buenos Aires runs the risk of ending the year without agreeing with teachers, an unprecedented fact over the last decade.
To date, the province has submitted 11 wage offers at the 20 joint meetings.
The FUDB – also made up of Amet technicians and Sadop 's private employees – has registered 29 days of unemployment since the beginning of the year.
In the paritaria of yesterday, the Vidal government also attempted to conclude – unsuccessfully – an agreement with teachers for 2019.
The offer made to FUDB for next year is an annual increase of 20% in 6 tranches, an increase of 4% in January, 4% in March, 4% in May, 4% in July, 2% in September and 2%. in November, plus a "salary adjustment" clause in case, as of July 31, the accumulated inflation in the first half of 2019 exceeded 16%.
He also proposed a clause of "revision" so that, if, at the end of November, the official price index is greater than the percentage of increase achieved, badesses the reopening of trading "d & rsquo; # 39; s office. "
The Ministers of Economy and Labor, Hernán Lacunza and Marcelo Villegas, and the Director General of Culture and Education, Gabriel Sánchez Zinny, attended the meeting.
