Friday June 25, a man was attacked by a shark who jumped out of the water as he parachuted into the middle of the Red Sea. After the attack, the 37-year-old lost part of his right foot.

According to the newspaper portal Daily mail, the Jordanian man was “floating” in the Aqaba Sea when the oviparous jumped in and managed to bite a piece of his limb.

The man insisted that there are several types of sharks in the area, but not all of them are dangerous. In addition, he said that he is a person who does a lot of activities in the water, however, this is the first time you have heard of an attack of this nature.

“I have been diving for 20 years And this is the first time I’ve heard of a shark attack. There are many types of sharks. We have reef sharks, guitar sharks and many other types, but none of them are dangerous, ”he said.

Mohammed Khalil Al Zabada, from the College of Marine Sciences, also said predators are not normally found in the shallow waters off the Jordanian coast. Yes, although there are sharks in different places, they are distributed in different regions, so it is very rare that they arrive in the Jordanian city.

“Sharks are found in all seas around the world, and in the Red Sea there are many types of sharks, but their presence in the Aqaba region is very rare,” Mohammed Khalil Al Zabada told Gulf News.

For its part, Nayef Al Bakhit of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority added that an investigation has been opened into the incident..

“The committee will issue a detailed statement on what happened as soon as it completes the investigation,” he said.

Even though this is not a normal event, In 2020, several more people were attacked in different parts of the Red Sea.
