The baby-sized frog that surprised in Oceania

The footage shows how the workers filmed themselves with the animal in their arms while hunting wild boar in the town of Honiara.

The sawmill owner shared the images on his personal Facebook account and it has gone viral in recent days.

The video shows how one of the workers lifts the huge animal and holds it on its legs.

The specimen is a “Cornufer guppyi” frog endemic to the Solomon Islands and known as one of the largest in the world. Unfortunately, its population has recently declined due to logging and the expansion of colonies in its habitat.

The owner of the place later revealed that his workers ate it, as the meat is highly prized in the area.

“I told my guys, next time if they catch any, we’ll keep them,” he said. ABC.
