The ballot in Brazil to define the main municipalities …

Sunday the second round of municipal elections in which the mayors of 57 municipalities will be elected. The focus will be on the country’s largest city: St.Paul. There it appears as favorite of the current center-right mayor Bruno Covas, from the Brazilian Social Democratic Party (PSDB), which won in the first round. However, in recent weeks polls have shown that leftist Guilherme Boulos, of the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL) had closed the gap, until he was seven points below his rival. For the ballot Boulos received the support of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The mayor will also be elected in Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Fortaleza, Vitória, Belém and Porto Alegre.
