Mar del Plata celebrated this Sunday in different parts of the city Saint Patrick, the traditional Irish feast, which featured craft beers made especially for the occasion, food and products typical of the European country, live music, kermes and important promotions.
From the end of the afternoon and late into the night, clovers and the green came back to invade the streets and breweries. The locals and their staff received hundreds of people with decoctions and green robes, with painted faces and goblin caps.
The celebration focused mainly on area of Córdoba, Olavarría and Güemes streets, where adults and children were able to enjoy the celebration of the death of St. Patrick of Ireland, patron of the entire island. Also, in Playa Grande, the Normandina complex hosted a mega festival with craft beer, orchestras, renowned DJs and kermes shows.
Declared of cultural interest by the Secretary of Culture of the Municipality of General Pueyrredon, the proposal included "24 taps of craft beer, DJ, musicians' orchestras, food trucks and kermes, along the sea".
For many years, both in the city and throughout the country, St. Patrick is celebrated with cultural and gastronomic events of the island. This feast of Christian origin is celebrated every year on March 17 to commemorate the death of the patron saint of the whole island of Ireland.
At first, it was a religious festival, but since 1996, a festival has been held in Dublin and other cities of the world, which can last up to five days in the Irish capital.
