The competition it takes place year after year and always brings with it Photographs that leave the whole world speechless. Its objective is to highlight the beauty of the ocean, as well as to raise awareness of its fragility and the many threats it faces.
This year, the first place went to Aimée Jan, the Photo It was taken from the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. It shows a green sea turtle, which appears to emerge inside a school of crystal fish.
Which brings us to the second place winner, which was won by Henley Spiers, who had a knack for capturing the exact moment a Northern Gannet crosses the water, in a truly stunning hunting technique. He was kidnapped from the Shetland Islands in Scotland.
Finally the third place goes to him photographer Matty Smith, who photographed a hawksbill turtle hatchling for the first time swimming in the ocean.
The famous competition culminated with the incorporation of a new category, The Female Fifty Fathoms Award, which is aimed at women who arouse admiration in the discipline of Photography oceans.
The biology professor and photographer, Renee Capozzola was the first winner in the category.
