The Book Fair in the city started with everything

This Thursday The eighth edition of the City’s Book Fair has started, with more than 80 exhibitors, who will exhibit their works during the long vacations at the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA). During the inauguration, the mayor Mariano Gaido underlined that it is “a very important event” for Neuquén “so that we value the culture, the writers, with a free methodology so that everyone can there to access “. They expect about a hundred thousand participants.

The Fair opened its doors this Thursday afternoon, with an act chaired by Gaido, Governor Omar Gutiérrez and his vice, Marcos Koopmann. The motto of this edition is “Free for books” and sYou will be able to visit until next Sunday, in the extended hours from 14 to 24. This exhibition was named “Marcelo Berbel”, in tribute to the civil servant who died in 2019 who promoted his creation.

“With this cutting of ribbons, we are opening the doors of a very important historical event, so that we value culture, writers, with a free methodology so that everyone can access it, ”announced the mayor. He also called on young people to come together because “education breeds freedom and freedom, like life, is the most important tool we have”.

He stressed that the Show is “a success from the first minute of the launch” and announced that they will be presented 70 writers from Neuquén during the four days of the exhibition.

He was also at the inauguration Mabel, Marcelo Berbel’s mother, who commented in shock that her son “will surely be seeing his beloved Book Fair going on right now” and thanked the municipality for maintaining the exhibition despite the pandemic.

The municipal secretary of Culture, Mauricio Serenelli, explained that the fairground has more than 55 exhibitors, mainly from Neuquén. For families visiting the fair, there will be daily shows and a food park with “foodtruks”.

At the event, the rector of the National University of Comahue, Gustavo Crisafuli, also delivered a speech, in which he stressed that “the book is one of the most wonderful objects created by human culture, which requires a very simple tutorial to be able to enjoy it. “He also specified that the publisher of the research house was continuing his work on the pandemic and, by the end of the year, it will reach 60 titles published .

In addition, Koopmann spoke and refuted the repeated sentence that today we read less. He stressed that “many boys and girls want to participate in the fair” and observed that the only change is that “Before it was in the paper books and today it is digitally”.

He informed that the legislative space will show the services of the parliamentary library “Poeta Juan José Brión” and of the library of the complex Casa de las Leyes, at the same time that they will offer a playful corner and will have the presence of authors of fame. , such as Mateo and Augusto Salvatto, who will present their book “The battle of the future” Friday, at 4.

The highlight of this edition will be the visit by historian Felipe Pigna on Sunday afternoon. He will give a talk at the end of the exhibition. Two days later, Tuesday at 11 am, in the Legislative Assembly Hall, he will give a presentation open to the public, titled “Women Should Be.”
