“My faith is one of the only things that has been able to carry me through these times and my faith centers on the belief in the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan as Jesus, the Messiah, the last divine reminder among us.”Green wrote on his page.

Farrakhan has long been a prominent and controversial figure in America, where he played an important role in the black nationalist movement and also organized the famous 1995 Million Men’s March in Washington, DC.

After driving his car over the Capitol Police on Friday and hitting the barrier, Green exited the vehicle brandishing a knife, in which case officers shot him. He died after being admitted to hospital.

“He got out of the vehicle with a knife in his hand. Our officers confronted the suspect. He didn’t respond to our orders. He started attacking the Capitol police, at which point they shot him,” said acting force chief Yogananda Pittman.

The two injured policemen, one of them by a knife, were immediately taken to hospital. The deceased officer is William Evans, who had been in the corps for 18 years and died of the hit-and-run.

“It has been an extremely difficult time for the United States Capitol Police after the events of January 6.”added Pittman, who called on the people to keep Evans and his whole family in their prayers.

He is the second Capitol Hill policeman to die in recent months, following the death of Officer Brian Sicknick, days after the assault on the parliamentary seat on January 6, from injuries sustained while on duty .
