The Catholic Church has clarified that it will not approve same-sex unions because it cannot bless sin

Second reason. “The order which governs acts to receive the gift is given by the purpose of God inscribed in Creation and fully revealed by Christ.” These divine designs “do not correspond to relationships or even to stable societies which involve a sexual praxis outside marriage, that is to say outside the indissoluble union between a man and a woman, open to the transmission of life ”. This is the case for same-sex unions.

The third reason is given, according to the Church in its decision announced this Monday, the error “to assimilate unions of people of the same sex to conjugal unions”.

The blessings of these unions could constitute “an imitation or an analogy with the nuptial blessing given to the man and the woman who unite in the sacrament of marriage, which would be false and inappropriate ”.

For these reasons, the Vatican dictates that “the blessing of same-sex unions cannot be considered legal”.

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith specifies that this in no way harms “the human and Christian consideration in which the Church has a person”.

The response to the “dubium” does not exclude “that blessings be granted to persons with homosexual inclinations who manifest their will to live faithful to the purposes revealed by God and to the teachings of the Church”.

The Holy See, he says, does not want his position taken into consideration “Unfair discrimination” towards homosexuals. Remember that the Christian community and pastors “are called to welcome people with homosexual inclinations with respect and sensitivity”. The Church concludes “pray for them, accompany them, share their journey of Christian faith and they must welcome their teachings with sincere availability”.

The “responsum” clarifies an ambiguous area that had sparked growing controversy and angry reactions fromultraconservative groups.

The Pope has now unleashed the explosive blessing potential of gay unions, pointing to the vanguard of traditionalists.
