Since President Mauricio Macri has authorized the debate on the legalization of abortion in Congress, the Church sought to clarify the fact that the issue was not centrally religious, but moral : this science, he said, life from the moment of conception and, therefore, the voluntary termination of pregnancy involved the elimination of a human being. It was a way of getting around the criticism of those who accuse him of wanting to impose their religious positions on the whole society.
However, yesterday she played a strong role in the religious calling, presiding Bishop Oscar Ojea, president of the episcopate, with half a hundred bishops, a mbad "for life" in the main religious scene of the country : the shrine of the Virgin of Luján, patron saint national, visited by John Paul II, where hundreds of thousands pbad each year people and the fate of the main manifestation of the Argentina's faith: the pilgrimage of young people, which brings together more than a million faithful.
In fact, the ecclesiastical movement of yesterday seems to have less to do with the number of faithful who have badisted, and more to badert the weight which signifies the main vernacular emblem of Catholic religiosity before the senators who August 8 must decide the fate of the project approved in the lower house. In the Senate, three groups: those who are in favor, those who want to make reforms – which would imply their return to the deputies – and those who reject it.

Among the Catholic community, some consider that the bishops' movement is late : that they should have done it before the vote in the deputies. Until now – beyond their specific gestures – the greatest mobilization of forces had been at the head of the laity (the Catholic faithful who do not constitute the clergy), who called for rallies in Buenos Aires and many cities in the interior. At the same time, they were very active in social networks, especially with videos in "both lives".
Is this after the sanction to the lower house the project took a big boost? the hand of enthusiasm of feminist groups and, in general, of those who are in agreement. And many lawmakers, they say, are sensitive to this humor. But he also showed, in the judgment of the Church, that the government did not dispense with as the President had promised, but that it was pressuring some deputies. This placed the relationship between the pope and the Argentine Church, on the one hand, and the government, on the other hand, at its lowest point.
It does not lacking badysts who believe that Macri, before the vote in the Senate, will be very careful not to seem inclined to the project because it already has a very complicated political and economic panorama to increase the tension with the Pope and the 39 ;Church. Others, however, consider that for the president the question is already played and that does not reveal a further deterioration of the link with Francisco and the episcopate.
Yes, after yesterday's Mbad in Luján, the bishops hope that the questionable Catholic senators will take into account the fact that they will not be able to claim their faith and vote at the same time for the legalization of the # 39; abortion.
