According to the President of the Spanish State Council and former Vice President of Government, María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, "the time has come" to make a speech that leaves behind its patriarchal character. "The language," he said, "is not neutral." The word shapes thought and feminists feel that society has worked with a language that fundamentally responds to a dominant political model that is still valid today. "

Consistent with this view and consulted by countless speakers on the same subject, Santiago Muñoz Machado, director of the RAE, said that the entities wanted to "improve the visibility of the female bad".
