The defense of Mexican Jorge Fernandez today filed a 47-year sentence appeal of prison for the murdered of his wife, the Spanish Maria del Pilar Santamans Garrido, took place in July 2017.
The defense lawyer, Jesus Eduardo Govea Orozco, told Efe that the appeal of the sentence for femicide against Fernández appeared before the State Court of Justice Mexican from Tamaulipas.
Govea Orozco said that with this call he seeks to overthrow the sentence of 47 years in prison for his client, with what Jorge could to obtain freedom in the event that the Court so decides.

"It can happen that the court ask for an audience, we do not ask, after that we hope that the resolution will be published ", added Govea Orozco.
He confirmed that since January 31, they have 15 working days so that the Public minister and the defense presents evidence.
After this period, magistrates will submit the recourse to the badysis, which could determine freedom or the confirmation of femicide sentence against Jorge, he said.
"We do not ask for the revocation of the process, we ask for the revocation of the judgment declaring its nullity, once this happens my client must be released"said the lawyer.
The lawyer ruled out the possibility of going to federal courtsbecause they seek to exhaust the authorities of Tamaulipas to apply an amparo.
Garrido Santamans disappeared on July 2, 2017 on a highway in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas and his remains were found days later very near the place where his disappearance was reported.
Fernández, husband of Garrido, was arrested on July 28 of the same year as alleged responsible for his murder and after a 17-month judicial procedure, was convicted of femicide on January 10and sentenced to 47 years in prison.
According to the news agency EFE, at the hearing held on Monday, more details were given on the conviction for femicide of January 10 establish compensation for 471,000 pesos for the relatives of the victim.
