Russia has recorded 791 deaths from covid-19 in the past 24 hours, a new high for the third day in a row, the coronavirus cabinet reported in its daily report.

Deaths from infectious disease skyrocketed across the country in July, while almost every day a new record of deaths due to covid-19 is recorded.

The previous record of coronavirus deaths was reported on Wednesday, with 786 deaths.

According to the coronavirus center, since the start of the health crisis in this country, the covid-19 disease is the cause of 146,069 deaths, although independent sources, based on excess deaths, double or even triple the official figures.

Most of Thursday’s deaths occurred at Moscow (101) and Saint Petersburg (108).

In total, in Russia they were detected 25,293 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, of which 5,237 were registered in Moscow, 2,444 in Moscow province and 1,954 in St. Petersburg.

Since the start of the pandemic in Russia, there has been 5,882,295 cases of covid-19 and is the fifth country in the world with the most accumulated infections, behind the United States, India, Brazil and France, according to the map designed by the American Johns Hopkins University.

In Russia, the mass vaccination campaign continues, during which they were immunized with at least one dose 28.6 million people, according to the authorities.

Until now 25 regions out of a total of 85 have introduced compulsory vaccination for certain groups of citizens, in particular those in close contact with the public, such as health workers and workers in the service sector.

Vaccination rates, according to health regulator Rospotrebadzor, vary in each region.

Among the leaders for the vaccination of the population are now Chukotka (33.07%), Belgorod (30.86%), Nenetsia (24.80%) and Moscu (23.71%).
