Two of the sons of Sara bingham, a 48-year-old woman, Noah, 20 years old, and Ariel, 16 years old, suffers from nephronoptysis requiring a kidney transplant, but she can only donate one of her own.

According to the BBC, it is a genetic disease, which causes inflammation and scarring in the kidneys. In recent months, the patient’s condition has worsened, so the transplant has become urgent.

The bad news for the Bingham family came in 2016, when Ariel began to feel constantly tired. At first her fatigue was attributed to the stress of school exams, but tests at the Royal Victoria Infirmary revealed that she had kidney disease.

Noah fell ill in 2019 and was diagnosed with the same problem. Although she is stable, she would need to gain weight to have a transplant.

“Obviously as a mother when you have kids who need kidney transplants you hope to donate your kidney to them, but suddenly there are two who need it and this dilemma arises.“Bingham said.

After verifying that the father is incompatible with his own children, two of the couple’s friends have emerged who could be Noah’s donors.

“I can’t say in words what it feels like to know that there are people out there willing to put themselves in danger for our children. The support we have received from our friends, family, neighbors and the church has been incredible. We would have collapsed if so many wonderful people hadn’t surrounded us, ”Sarah said.

Noah is on dialysis regularly and is in stable condition at the moment, while Ariel has a condition that “has deteriorated further over the past year” and will likely be the first to transplant.

Meanwhile, the couple’s third child, Casper, 12, is constantly being checked to see if he also has the disease.
