English Sarah covell and her family had only had the little girl Crumpet for three months when he disappeared from the garden behind your house. It was a safe place, hard to get to, so they still have no explanation as to how the Jack Russell went up in smoke and he was never seen again.

The dog she was playing with the family’s other pet that tragic afternoon in 2010. Meanwhile, Sarah, now 57, was doing other chores in a nearby yard. Back to see how Crumpet and his partner Totty were doing, he noticed the puppy was gone.

The family was devastated and they started a search offering a reward of 300 pounds for their return, but ultimately Sarah, her husband Mike, 66, and their daughters Tallulah and Elektra, they gave up hope of ever seeing Crumpet again.

Sarah, from the town of Sherborne, in the English county of Dorset, said the only hypothesis they were dealing with was a theft: “It would have been very unusual for Crumpet to run away, he has never done so before and she became very attached to my older dog, who looked after her and they always went together. “

They were like a little couple. So it was very improper of her to walk away, but since she is very sympathetic, she probably wouldn’t have done anything if a stranger had shown up. “ Anyway this version is also strange since the back garden of the house for them was always very safe.

“It’s very, very strange. We’ve been everywhere, I mean literally everywhere.. We started driving, we went into town, we went down the valleys, this week we made flyers, we hung them up and we went everywhere. “

But his efforts didn’t stop there: “Then I contacted my microchip company, the vets and everyone. And nothing, absolutely nothing, just disappeared. I felt really guilty that he wasn’t with me. “

More than a decade passed until a vet called him on June 12. It was an emergency call so the woman was very surprised she responded immediately and She was frozen when she heard the man say their dog had been found on a golf course, a few kilometers from my home.

Yes, 11 years after his disappearance, Crumpet was still alive and waiting for him. “My reaction to receiving the call was a bit of disbelief to be honest”, Sarah confesses to the English newspaper The Mirror.

“We didn’t even know if we would recognize her, knowing that 11 years had passed. Obviously, as soon as we saw her when we arrived, there he was moving and wagging his tail.

“We said ‘Oh yeah! That’s it!’ but she clearly looks very different from when she was a puppy. “

She also doesn’t explain what happened

“It’s kind of miraculous that he came back into our lives and every morning we were like ‘wow he was with us again’. So it’s a little weird, but it’s beautiful. Finding her is incredible “.

Remembering what happened 11 years ago, he can’t help but feel the disappointment again when he had no choice but to give up: “I gave up a year after his disappearance. We ended up hoping to think that if someone had taken her hopefully they would take care of her but that’s the saddest thing they just didn’t care. of her. “

“I feel like they abandoned her, now she’s 11, His breeding days are over and he is not doing well physically. She has obviously had puppies and needs a lot of medical work now, I don’t feel like I’ve seen a vet before. “

According to Sarah’s story, her pet has too many problems because of the forgetfulness: “His ears were very infected, very inflamed with massive growths. On Monday (June 21), they operated on her and said she was completely deaf, poor thing. If she had been taken to the vet earlier, she certainly wouldn’t be deaf now. “

“I think she has been neglected, it is a crime that her ears were left like that because it is easily solved. Now he will have to take medication for the rest of his life. “

Although he doesn’t know everything Crumpet went through in his 11 years away, Sarah says she kept her gentle nature and was very friendly with vets and family.

Sarah said the key to finding her was the microchip that had been implanted: “It’s a really good lesson for everyone: microchip your dog and keep the details up to date. It’s one of those crazy things you never know when your lost pet might come home. “
