The dramatic story of a young woman whose leg was eaten by a shark | the Chronicle

Paige Winter, a girl of only 19, had an episode that could have cost her her life. The girl, from North Carolina, almost died when she was eaten by a shark while he was on the shores of the aforementioned city “Yankee”.

Paige was 17 when she lost her left leg and two toes on her right foot after the animal was attacked at Atlantic Beach in 2019. Winter appeared in front of the cameras and relived the painful moment. “We had been to the beach with my dad, my sister, my best friend and my dad’s girlfriend with his little boy. She looked around and saw that everyone was there with her and wondered if there was a stranger catching her. “Then they dragged me under the water and there I thought, ‘This is not right. It took me a second to realize, ‘Oh my God, that’s a shark.’, says Winter. It was then that she remembered that she felt completely carried away.

“It was like a horror movie”, she said frightened and remembered: “Then the shark started to shake like a dog is playing with a rope and shaking it from side to side. I was doing that to my leg“.
