● 1820. Manuel Belgrano dies at the age of 50. Son of a wealthy family, Belgrano studied in Spain and again became an official of the viceroyalty. Imbued with the ideas of the Enlightenment, he embraced the cause of the May Revolution. He was a member of the first council and led the expedition to Paraguay. In command of the Army of the North, he defeated the royalists in Tucumán and Salta and suffered defeats in Vilcapugio and Ayohuma. In 1812, he created the national flag. He died in misery. The date is stored as the day of the flag.

● 1928. Eric Dolphy, one of the most versatile musicians in jazz history, was born in Los Angeles. Saxophonist, clarinetist and flautist, he has performed with the Charles Mingus Quartet. He later started his scene as a leader and performed with John Coltrane in a quintet. A diabetic coma ended his life in Berlin, nine days after his 36th birthday, while he was in sextet with Mingus.

● 1942. Brian Wilson was born in Inglewood, California. The mastermind of the Beach Boys is considered one of the most influential rock musicians in history. He maintained an artistic rivalry with the Beatles in the mid-1960s. In 1966, the Californian group released Animal sounds, considered a masterpiece. His next project was Smile, an unfinished LP. By this time he was already suffering from nervous breakdowns. He later started his solo career. He reunited with the surviving members of the Beach Boys in 2011 for the group’s half-century.

● 1973. Massacre of Ezeiza. The internal conflict of Peronism breaks out when left and right groups collide in the forests of Ezeiza, the day we wait for the plane that brings Juan Domingo Perón back from exile. Two million people are mobilizing in the largest concentration in Argentine history. The flight from Madrid is to land in Morón. There are thirteen dead. In the following days, Perón will seal the end of the government of Héctor Cámpora, who, with his resignation, will seek to facilitate access to the third presidency of the general.

● 2018. Dante Caputo, the first chancellor of democracy recovered in 1983, died at the age of 74. He had studied political science and obtained a doctorate in sociology at the Sorbonne.
