The feat of a man who threw himself to the ocean at night to save his fellow shipwrecked

Due to mechanical breakdowns, one boat was left adrift with three crew members near the beaches of El Morro, in the municipality of Tumaco (Nariño), Colombia's second largest port on the Pacific. But one of the people on board did a risky feat and managed to save everyone else.

Eventually, they found them and the boat was towed to a "safe dock" where people received medical care and were out of danger. Until now, in 2019, the Navy has saved 97 people in similar situations in the Pacific Ocean.

That same Wednesday, the institution also saved 23 tourists wrecked in the Caribbean Sea while they were transported in a tourist boat near the city of Santa Marta (Magdalena), in the north of the country.
