The fight to the death between a mongoose and a cobra goes viral | the Chronicle

A cobra and a mongoose were captured on video last week when they clashed violently in the district of Khordha (Odisha, India).

The mammal attacked the reptile near a villager’s yard, attracting the attention of other locals who, in addition to staying to witness the scene, did not miss the opportunity to record it.

Seeing that the animals began to fight for their lives, people started to get closer and then took it upon themselves to share the images that were all the rage on the web.

The insistence of the mongoose and the resistance of the cobra prolonged the fight for almost half an hour. Despite the snake’s attempts to defend itself, when it was overtaken by the mammal, it attempted to escape into the bushes.

But finally, the mongoose managed to impose itself and feed on the ferocious reptile. These types of animals are immune to the king cobra venom, thanks to multiple anti-hemorrhagic and anti-neurotoxin antibodies present in their blood.
