SpaceX has prepared the first launch of the Starship N8 rocket, the spacecraft with which it hopes to take humans to Mars in “2024 or 2026”, for this Tuesday.
If the test is successful, Starship will fly between 12 and 15 kilometers high, with a controlled return and landing. In the worst case scenario, the ship may not take off or even explode.
As Musk progresses, there is only a 33% chance of success, as too many factors need to be addressed at once.
The previous flight test was carried out in August, with a flight of only 150 meters. However, for this new attempt, the engines were changed and a new flight control was incorporated. The body of the SN8 is primarily liquid methane cooled stainless steel, as this steel itself would be unable to withstand the temperatures generated when entering and exiting Earth.
