The first ship with soy arrived from the United States in 20 years

After the drought that Argentina suffered, which caused
a drop of 18 million tons in soybean production and an industry need to buy more goods, today arrived the first ship with this grain in 20 years of the United States.

The ship, Shakespeare Bay, arrived at the Port of San Lorenzo with 29,310 tons of soybeans for the agribusiness Vicentin.

In total, according to sources in the agro-export sector, the United States has made purchases of about 560,000 tonnes. Currently, the industry has an inactive capacity of 40%. Argentina has a theoretical milling capacity of 202,831 tonnes per day in its oilseed industry.

To facilitate the import from the United States, the government has created a system that allows entry exclusively for milling biotechnology events that
