The footage that shows how a mile of Lake Michigan ice shattered off the coast of Chicago

The the winds north of The United States blew with such power in February which caused a large mass of ice of Lake Michigan was dislodged from the shore.

According to local media WWMT, ice formed on the lake and it was difficult to see the water’s edge, but as temperatures increased, as did the intensity of the winds, significant portions of the ice gradually melted.

According to WWMT, the occurrence is normal during this time of year, as wind and currents carry unmelted ice into the lake. For their part, the media have warned the general public not to risk walking on the ice, as the consequences could be catastrophic.

At 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7 Celsius), Tuesday’s temperatures are cooler than they’ve been in eight weeks.

For now, the forecast for the following days in Chicago is with winds that will reach up to 40 kilometers per hour and maximum temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 Celsius).
