Members of the Bolsonaro family have fought repeatedly with political figures during the four months in office. In March, the president of the lower house, Rodrigo Maia, left his liaison role in the government's reform bill after the publication of some comments from Carlos on Twitter. The episode has shaken investor confidence because Maia is considered crucial to the government's reform process.

Mourão again tried to soothe the escalation of tension and told the media on Wednesday that he had "turned the page" on all issues with Carlos. "Everyday tensions are enough," he said.
