Transport Minister Guillermo Dietrich confirmed that since August 15, bus and train fares in the metropolitan area will increase in three stages, which will represent an adjustment of 30% . In the case of collectives, the minimum ticket will cost $ 11 in August (currently $ 10), $ 12 in September and $ 13 in October.

According to the new table of rates, the lines of San Martín, Sarmiento and Miter will also have a progressive adjustment : they will increase $ 0.75 in August, $ 0.75 in September and $ 0.50 in October and end at $ 8.75 in 2018.

For Belgrano Sur and Roca lines, the increase will be of 0.75 per month, which will end the year at $ 5.50 . For its part, the Belgrano Norte will increase from $ 0.50 each month until October, while the minimum rate in Urquiza will increase from $ 3.50 to $ 5.75.

"We are working for a better transportation system. In this way and to ensure that this transformation is true and sustainable, the rates must accompany this process, "said Dietrich of the Ministry of Economy.

In this sense, the Minister listed the work done by his administration, among which he pointed out the viaducts at the height of the Belgrano Sur, San Martín and Miter, the expansion of the network Metrobús and the improvement of the stations.

The diesel – which the national government subsidizes for the sector – and a new salary scale led Dietrich to apply a new adjustment, after the last increase in June.

It turns out that the government is giving a monthly check of $ 3,000 million to collective lines of Bueno s Aires and Conurbano. But this sum turns out to be insufficient, according to the cameras that group the transport companies, who claim that they can not renew the units. Salary reorganizations are paid by the government and this will likely require larger state subsidies.

The increase announced by the minister is the fourth since the beginning of the year. Since February, rates have risen in three stages and accumulated an adjustment of nearly 60%.
