The pedophile Richard Huckle, convicted of abusing 191 Malaysian babies and minors in Yorkshire, in the north of England, was killed Sunday at Full Sutton Prison.

The prisoner was found dead at age 33 and the Humberside police opened an investigation. "We were informed shortly after 12:30 (Sunday) to report the death of a man in prison," said a police spokesman in statements collected by the British newspaper "The Guardian".

The authorities have not given more details about what happened, but sources quoted by the Guardian newspaper suggest that Huckle was stabbed in his cell with a "tumbero" knife.

At the trial, Huckle admitted to committing 71 crimes against children between the ages of six months and twelve between 2006 and 2014; he was therefore sentenced to 22 life sentences for which he was to serve a minimum sentence of 25 years. The case has become all the more relevant as the author of the offense shared footage of his crimes on the "dark web".

Huckle has been featured as an English teacher and philanthropist in the poor Christian communities of Kuala Lumpur. Some of the victims have been abused for years, including one who has been assaulted from the age of three until she was ten years old. The abuse began at the age of 19 and until her arrest in 2016 in London, when she was already 30 years old.

Full Sutton Prison is one of the maximum security prisons in the United Kingdom, with a reception capacity of about 558 inmates. In 2011, he was killed by another prisoner from the same prison, Colin Hatch, convicted of murdering children.
