Outgoing US President Donald Trump on Friday condemned Twitter’s decision to permanently suspend his social media account and said create your own platform to broadcast your messages without filters.
“They won’t shut us up!”Trump exclaimed in a statement released by the White House after Twitter announced it had permanently suspended his personal account on social media, @realDonaldTrump.
“I predicted that would happen. We negotiated with several other sites, and we will have a big announcement soon, while examining the possibilities of building our own platform in the near future, ”he added.
The outgoing president said Twitter “has gone further and further in banning free speech”, and accused them of “coordinating with Democrats and the radical left” to delete his account.

“They silenced me and YOU, the 75 million great patriots who voted for me,” said Trump, who also complained about the protections enjoyed by Twitter and other social networks, which exonerate them from the legal consequences of what third parties post on their websites.
The Twitter measure deprives Trump of his primary channel of communication, an account with which he has posted more than 55,000 messages for more than eleven years and which had 89 million subscribers.
The social network temporarily suspended Trump’s account for 12 hours on Wednesday, after the president tweeted justifications for the assault on Capitol Hill by his supporters, which left five dead, at least thirteen police officers injured and all kinds of damage at the seat of the Legislative Assembly.
Twitter then returned the account to him with the warning that “any further violation of Twitter’s rules will result in” a permanent suspension, and this Friday, after analyzing Trump’s last two tweets, he decided to take the extraordinary step.
“Following careful consideration of recent tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the surrounding context, we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement to violence,” Twitter said in a statement posted to its official blog.
The social network explained that Trump’s tweets, in which he defended his constituents and announced that he would not attend Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, were interpreted on social networks as “a reversal of his commitment previous”. with an “orderly transition”.
In addition, his posts “may serve as an encouragement to those considering acts of violence (making it clear) that the inauguration would be a” safe “goal because he will not be attending,” Twitter added.
Twitter also suspended Donald Trump’s campaign account @TeamTrump.
Following the permanent suspension of his personal account, Trump posted posts on his presidential campaign profile and on the official profile of the President of the United States.
After a few minutes, the social network deleted the messages and suspended the @TeamTrump account. “Using another account to avoid suspension is against our rules,” said a spokesperson, who clarified that the official @POTUS profile will not be closed.
Twitter’s is the most definitive measure of technological measures against Trump’s speech after the assault on Capitol Hill, but not the only one: Facebook and Instagram have blocked the president’s access to his account at least until the transfer of power be completed on January 20, Twitch and Snapchat deactivated his profile indefinitely.
Many Trump followers are spreading their messages less and less on Twitter and more on a newly created alternative social network called Speak, but this platform also began to suffer after the attack on Capitol Hill: This Friday, Google withdrew its application from its virtual store.
