The jury declared "Chapo" Guzmán guilty of drug trafficking – 02/12/2019

The jury of the trial of Mexican drug dealer Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán delivered a verdict Tuesday, at its sixth day of deliberations: pleaded guilty in the 10 counts for which the narco was charged.

The Brooklyn Court Jury heard the testimony for almost three months and some of the evidence was the statements of 14 criminals who cooperated with the authorities. Many spoke of Guzman's willingness to use violence against his enemies.

According to the prosecution, the Mexican capo cartel trafficked at least 200 tons of cocaine into the United States for more than two decades.

The defense accused the cooperating witnesses of making Guzmán a scapegoat for their own crimes.

The jurors had to complete a form requiring them to make 53 decisions on the 10 counts. Many are related to the main charge of manage a criminal enterprise in activity.

A dWhat has not gone unnoticed, is that after being sentenced, Chapo greeted the jurors one by one with a cordial handshake.
