The news of Lonzo Ball's knee injury that surfaced last week coincided with rumors that the Lakers guard was on the trading block.

According to an ESPN report, this is not a coincidence.

Yahoo Sports reported on June 29, Ball had a torn meniscus in his left knee. While he should be ready for the training camp, the news of the injury has certainly not helped his commercial value.

And some in the Lakers organization believe that's why the news came out, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN

"This knee injury, I think it's There was a belief around the Lakers that it was in his world that it was leaked out there to prevent it being exchanged, "Wojnarowski said. "He does not want to be exchanged from L.A. It was not the Lakers who wanted information on this knee injury."

"There were a lot of teams checking the possible agreements with the Lakers, they wanted to know, there were a lot of questions on that knee."

If the report is true, it would not be the first time the agent of a player or other aides worked to sabotage a potential deal. LaVar Ball recently noted that if the Lakers traded Lonzo, it would be the "worst shot that They have never done.
