The Lima group "will immediately condemn"a possible arrest of the leader of the opposition Juan Guaidó when I come back to Venezuela, to protect him and put pressure on the government of Nicolás Maduro, according to the Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Néstor Popolizio.

At an economic forum held in Madrid, the minister badured that "authoritarianism" of the Venezuelan "dictatorship" and the "serious crisis" political, social, economic and humanitarian that it causes are at the center of regional instability.

He reiterated the support of Peru and the Lima group to the National Assembly of Venezuela and its president, Juan Guaidó, in a "transition" towards fair elections in front of the "illegitimate" government of Maduro and towards the opening of a "channel" for international humanitarian aid.

He relied on international pressure for a process "irreversible"In Venezuela, towards democracy, no place for spaces"fake dialogues"with Maduro and in a"cracking"military support that keeps him.

And if Guaidó is arrested on his return to Venezuela, he warned, the Lima group "will condemn him immediately to protect him", he finished.

Guaidó, recognized president of European and American countries, left Venezuela a week ago as a result of the failure of his attempt last Saturday to enter international humanitarian aid, even as the country's authorities had prevented him from leaving.
