The appeal of the relatives of Padrino comes after the United States stressed that the Minister of Defense had canceled at the last moment his support for the withdrawal of Maduro during the day of Tuesday, when the president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, launched the initiative "Operation Freedom" to end the "usurpation" of the executive.

White House National Security Advisor John Bolton revealed that Padrino, Supreme Court Justice (HRJ) President Maikel Moreno, and Presidential Guard Commander Iván Rafael Hernández had agreed to Authorize Nicolás Maduro to leave power. "We believe it is very important that the regime's personalities who have engaged with the opposition over the past three months have honored their commitment to a peaceful transition of power," said Bolton.
