One of the leaders of the Colombian Gaitanista Self-Defense Force (AGC), also known as Clan del Golfo, was captured on May 23 in Rionegro (Antioquia). This is Juan José Valencia, alias “Andrea” or “Falcón”, who for years controlled important routes to transport drug shipments from Colombia to the United States and Europe.
The person responsible for breaking the news was Defense Minister Diego Molano, who explained that the capture took place as part of Operation Agamemnon II. The process was led by members of the National Police and the Attorney General’s Office, who have been investigating drug trafficking movements for months.
“Amid the eccentricities, he was captured in Rionegro, Antioquia, aka ‘Andrea’ or ‘Falcon’, one of the leaders of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ and the right arm ‘Otoniel’, the maximum leader of this armed group. “Andrea” controlled the drug trafficking routes from Cartagena to countries in the Caribbean and Europe “Molano wrote on his Twitter account.
Authorities revealed that several items of the drug trafficker were also found in the middle of the operation and were seized. Among the list of supplies are nine pistols, three revolvers, one submachine gun, three shotguns, two rifles, 35 suppliers, three telescopic sights, one submachine gun adapter, three pistol barrels and a rifle scope. Likewise, eleven cell phones, three laptops and two hard drives were found where he resided with important information, which is currently being analyzed by forensic experts.
Police also revealed that auto assets and real estate were seized from the alias “Andrea”. Among them, 13 high-end vehicles out of the 30 he is presumed to own.
Authorities have revealed photos of the property, and the photos show sports cars, high-end motorcycles, a furnished mansion and other valuables. The elements are so expensive that the Minister of Defense assured that the eccentricities of the drug trafficker could be assimilated to those of Pablo Escobar.
“The national police have not found such a level of eccentricity since the days of Pablo Escobar and Rodríguez Orejuela”, Molano assured on Twitter.
Here are some of the photos revealed by the police of the expropriated property:
