A breeder from Florida (USA) who died after being attacked by a cbadowary, a huge bird from Australia and New Guinea considered one of the most dangerous in the world, did not have permission to own the animal, according to local authorities.
Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman Karen Parker confirmed that the 75-year-old victim, Marvin Hajos, exercised an exemption from the captive wildlife rules of the agency. The attack took place Friday near Gainesville.
The casoar can measure up to 1.80 meters and weigh about 60 kilos.

The Gainesville Sun newspaper reported that licenses are usually required to own, sell or display casinos to the public, but breeders are exempt.
The first tests of the case made it possible to determine that the surprise attack had occurred when Hajos had crossed the park of his farm feeding the animals. Suddenly, he stumbled on an object, fell to the ground and the cbadowary, frightened, attacked his dream in defense mode. "It looks like it's an accident," said Chief of Police Jeff Taylor at Gainesville Sun.
Although it is a generally peaceful and shy animal, when they feel harbaded, they are good at kicking. This blow can be very dangerous and even deadly, as was the case in Florida.
Ron McGill, a wildlife specialist and Miami Zoo spokesperson, told CNN that people tend to take care of their beak, "but it's not the summit at all. These are his legs (…) This animal attacks with his paws ".

"You can take an animal out of the wild world, but you can not take the nature of an animal," he added.
The cbadowaries are similar to emus and can grow up to 1.8 meters in height and weigh up to 60 kilograms. According to the San Diego Zoo website, they are the most dangerous bird in the world because they have a spur of 10 centimeters in each leg, with which they can open a predator or a human being.
