The millionaire heirs of Fidel Castro outraged in Cuba

Antonio “Tony” Castro Ulloa and Sandro Castro, two of the grandsons of Fidel CastroThey are the target of heavy criticism these days in Cuba.

It is that, while the country faces poverty in the midst of the pandemic, the heirs of the one who was the leader of the revolution, exhibit themselves in the networks of a life surrounded by luxury.

Tony, son of Dr Antonio Castro and Lisette Ulloa, shared images of his expensive trips to destinations such as Paris and Spain via his social media, as well as tourist and luxury spots in Cuba. He was also not deprived of showing himself behind the wheel of very high-end cars.

Sandro Castro was filmed some time ago speeding down a Cuban road in his Mercedes Benz, while in recent days a video has circulated in which he was seen drinking beer while driving.

“You know we’re simple, but every once in a while you have to take out the toys that are at home,” he said at the time.

Then he apologized.

In any case, Cuban society has shown strong indignation at these events.

Activist Kirenia Yalit Núñez told Radio Martí: “At the moment, with the situation in the country where there is not even flour for bread, which is the most basic thing of the Cuban population, and suddenly we see pictures of children and grandchildren of Fidel and Raúl, of Mariela (Castro) herself, having luxurious dinners and lives. It is logical to think that, precisely, the money comes out of what does not reach the ordinary population ”.

Meanwhile, for José Ramón Polo, activist and member of the Cuban Youth Dialogue Table, the lifestyle of rich Cubans “is not something new”, what has changed is that “They are no longer afraid to show what they have with their power”.

And he concluded with a forceful sentence: “Socialism is the equal distribution of poverty. We are all poor except them.
