The minimum wage in Argentina was the best in the region and fell to eighth place

And compared to the rest of the region, the collapse of the minimum wage is overwhelming over the last decade. To maintain between 2009 and 2017 the highest minimum wage in the region, Argentina stands today in eighth place after Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil and Peru.

Measured today in dollars, the minimum wage in Argentina barely exceeds half of what it was paid in 2009. Of the 417 dollars that reached the minimum wage in 2009, they barely reach 277.

In 2009, it even doubled that of Paraguay, the country with the second highest minimum wage in the region.
