The moment a group of 70 killer whales get stuck and devour a baby blue whale

In images shared by Whale Watch, a tourist company on the Australian coast, we see how the orcas hunt the giant blue whale for more than two hours until they are able to let it down and devour it.

It was blue whale hunting

Whale Watch reports on its website that the blue whale was only approached by a few orcas in the first half hour. It even seemed that the whale was winning the battle. However, the orcas’ tactics changed and within minutes 70 specimens cornered her to hit her with their tails.

The head of the orcas moved to the lower flank of the whale and began to bite it, causing it to lift its huge peduncle into the sky. “The whole killer whale family put their body weight on the whale so it couldn’t defend itself, we saw the moment it took its last breath and then disappeared,” said Jemma Sharp of Whale Watch. The last moment was heartbreaking, as one of the blue whale’s fins slipped beneath the surface when it was knocked over: it would be the last time tourists would see the animal.
