The moment a road bridge collapses in China

In the videos published by the Chinese media, the bridge was seen, several meters high, tilting and falling, crushing the vehicles below.

Other images show two cars completely crushed, of which only the hood and headlights are visible protruding from a large block of gray concrete.

According to a preliminary investigation, a heavily loaded truck would have illegally reached the bridge and caused its accident, said the mayor of Wuxi on social media.

Three vehicles were crushed, one of which was parked on the side of the bridge and unoccupied. Three people died in the other two cars, according to the mayor's office, which also reported two injuries.

The collapse of buildings, roads and infrastructure is not unusual in China.

In February 2018, eight people died and three others are missing in Foshan after the collapse of a causeway, caused by a water leak in the work of a subway station.
