New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today ordered an investigation into the blackout that affected more than 70,000 people last night for four hours, and said it was "unacceptable" that these reductions are made.
"Although the situation has fortunately been under control, the fact that this has happened is unacceptable," Cuomo said in a statement. It is thought that the power outage was caused by problems in one of West Manhattan's substations, extended to other electrical installations in the city.
