White vinegar and baking soda is one of the best combinations for cleaning the house and one of the most used. While countertops, glass, table, floors, and tiles are always thought first, it’s also important to keep appliances like microwaves sparkling.
Lighting this type of objects, as well as the refrigerator, the kettle, among others, is very practical and there are many products to do so. But there is also very inexpensive home solutions and very efficient, which can be done manually, it is enough to have vinegar, baking soda and lemon.

In a microwave safe place 1 glass of water and 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Heat at maximum power for 5 minutes with the door closed so that the vapor of the mixture penetrates well on all its walls and removes the dirt.
When you’re done, wait for the container to cool and remove it with a rag to avoid getting burned. Once done Pour a little baking soda on a dry cloth, rub it on the walls of the microwave and clean with a damp cloth.
The oven is one of the dirtiest appliances, as food often leaves stains and odors. But the white vinegar helps peel it off to make it like new and there are three ways to do this:
- Combine the vinegar and baking soda and pour the mixture into a sprayer. Then spray the entire oven (walls, floor and ceiling) and turn it on at a temperature of 120ºC. Leave it on for 10 minutes, turn it off and when it cools, wipe it off with a damp cloth.
- Squeeze 4 lemons and pour them into a container filled with oven-safe water. Turn it on at a temperature of 250ºC and wait 30 minutes. The grease will come off on its own with a rag or rag.
- Place in an ovenproof dish 10 tablespoons of baking soda, 4 hot water and 3 vinegar, and distribute them throughout the oven. Leave it on for several hours (no need to turn it on) and with a simple cloth the dirt will come out by itself.
