Shots were fired near the entrance to the Pentagon on Tuesday morning., that caused several injured. The facility, the headquarters of the United States Armed Forces, was temporarily closed.
The Arlington County Fire Department reported that there were “several patients”but it was not immediately clear whether they had been shot and the extent of their injuries was unknown.
A policeman was among the woundedaccording to two law enforcement officials, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly.
The incident occurred in a Metro bus platform that is part of the Pentagon Transit Center, the Pentagon Protection Force Protection Agency tweeted. The facility is steps from the Pentagon Building, located in Arlington County, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington, DC
