Clarissa Ward, of the American channel CNN, and Charlotte Bellis, of the Qatari television station Al Jazeera, both wore the hijab, a kind of veil that covers at least the head and the chest and leaves the face exposed.

The situation is much worse for Afghan journalists, who receive death threats from the Taliban and from those who believe that women should not be treated as equals.

Aaisha, a well-known Afghan presenter and journalist, said in an interview with The Guardian who feels his life’s efforts have collapsed in seconds.

“For many years I worked as a journalist to make the voice of Afghans heard, especially Afghan women, but now our identity is destroyed and we have done nothing to deserve this,” she said. .
