The Spanish Civil Guard has released a photo that shows the saddest face of immigration. In the image, which moves the world, you can see a few days old baby rescued from the sea.

In the midst of a wave of migration, which has led thousands of migrants to cross the border into Morocco and Ceuta – a Spanish autonomous city located on the Tingitana peninsula on the shores of the Strait of Gibraltar – by sea or by land, this postcard crosses the most important media portals and goes viral on social networks.

Among the many who tried to reach Ceuta by sea was this baby in his pajamas and hat, who had to be rescued by an agent from the Special Group for Underwater Activities of the Civil Guard (GEAS ), identified with the name of Juan Francisco.

Through its social networks, the Civil Guard disseminated images showing some of its elements swimming in the waters of Ceuta, while “saving the lives of dozens of minors” who were trying to reach the city by sea with the rest of them. family. In the photographs it is also possible to see Red Cross volunteers.

Since May 17, eight thousand migrants have managed to cross, by sea or land, the separation fence (eight kilometers long and 10 meters high in some sections) between Morocco and Ceuta, including about 1,500 minors; however, around four thousand people have already been returned to Morocco.

Ceuta and Melilla are both autonomous cities of Spain located in the north of Morocco, which is why they are the only two land borders that exist between the European Union and the African continent and, as a result, thousands of people seek to reach them.
