In the midst of an unusual heat wave, with temperatures exceeding 25 degrees in the middle of August, Thursday's thunderstorms are expected to bring some cold to the region. In this way, with the arrival of rain, this "early summer" would end.

For this Thursday, the National Meteorological Service announces isolated storms and rains throughout the day, moderate south winds and temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees. Meanwhile, the north of the country has temperatures above 30 degrees and the center with peaks of 25, with no forecast of rain. The latter caused fears of fires in the province of Córdoba.

The myth of the Santa Rosa storm states that in the five days before and after August 30, the heaviest rains of each year are waiting for us, although weather studies have shown that this does not happen.

A statistical badysis carried out for the city of Buenos Aires between 1870 and 2004 revealed that only 12% of cases could be verified between five days before and five days after August 30th.

High temperatures

Temperatures in the northern provinces of Argentina have exceeded 30 degrees Wednesday and could reach 35 this Thursday, while they will be between 20 and 25 degrees in the center of the country and that the south coast of Patagonia will enjoy a pleasant climate with up to 15 national weather service reported.

According to the SMN, from this Thursday, the temperature will begin to fall from the south of the region of Córdoba in the north of the country, with a cold front that will cross this province towards Catamarca and Santa Fe. The provinces of Jujuy, Salta, Formosa and Chaco will continue with high temperatures until Friday, when they will begin to decline.
