In June of this year, a woman denounced the then president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Rogério Caboclo, for sexual harassment. From this lawsuit arose two more cases of employees of the entity who claimed to have been victims of the powerful leader. These accusations led to a process that ended with the impeachment of the 48-year-old man for a period of 12 months.

“My life is a disaster”, assured the woman whose identity was not revealed and who broke the silence this weekend in an interview published by the site of the chain or balloon. In the long article, this CBF employee recounts some of the violent situations she has had to experience in her workplace and details the harassment he suffered from Caboclo, who was his direct boss. With her testimony and her complaint, she was the first to bring this matter to light.

“To have lived these situations is an incomparable pain, no woman should experience this at any time in her eyes. It’s a pain that has no end», Assured the complainant, who has been with the Federation for nine years and who, just a few days ago, resumed her work after taking time off work for anxiety attacks and panic attacks which forced her to undergo psychiatric treatment.

The woman added that received numerous threats from Caboclo after making the matter public, “He sent a car to the door of my house and I felt like I was being persecuted. He also broke into my computer and into my bank account. I was panicked, scared. I didn’t feel safe anywhere at any time of the day and couldn’t sleep without taking medication”.

Recounting the harassment she suffered from the leader, the CBF employee said that it “had intensified” over time and that they caused nervous breakdowns and crying on her. workplace, which forced him to lock himself in the bathroom to vomit on his nerves. . “At one point, I thought: I’m going to die. I had the feeling that I couldn’t breathe, that I couldn’t live my life, ”he added.

“From the first moment, Rogério exceeded the limits with me. From the first trip to Luque, Paraguay. On this trip he commented on my body and I thought it didn’t correspond to an employer-employee relationship. On the same trip, the morning was spent calling my room and I didn’t answer. They were comments about my personal life, my love life. It all increased over time when I became his advisor and with the increase in alcoholic drink consumption as well. I was commenting on my sex life and wondering who I had slept with. It was absurd and it got worse, ”he said.

Inappropriate comments and questions were not the only form of violence the complainant had to endure. One day, Caboclo learned that she was hosting another colleague in one of the rooms in her house for reasons related to the coronavirus pandemic. At that point, the president called other leaders into the meeting room and told them that “dear employee is now dating so and so.” “He humiliated and ridiculed me in front of everyone with a made-up situation”The woman reported, noting that she repeatedly asked her boss to stop asking her about her personal life because it made her uncomfortable.

On another occasion, Caboclo commented on another CBF executive to her and later accused her that she was going to tell this man all the details of the conversation. “You are going to do it because you are his little bitch”, he told him. Seconds later, the agency president appeared with a bag of pet food and tossed a cake to eat for the woman. She refuses, grabs her things and leaves the room: “I was destroyed, never in my life had I felt so humiliated, they had never disrespected me like that.”

The next day, when the woman confronted him with what had happened and repeated that he did not want him to ask questions about his personal life, Caboclo went further: he told him that he wouldn’t tell anyone about her personal life anymore, that he wouldn’t have friends inside the institution, that she couldn’t smile at anyone and that she had to change the way she dressed. She also couldn’t dye her hair or wear false eyelashes. “I was afraid of him, very afraid ”, admitted the complainant, who has come to fear for her physical integrity in the face of the power of a man “who has 100 million reais”.

Faced with the worsening situation, the CBF employee decided to register Caboclo and this audio is a fundamental element in the case which has been brought against him for sexual harassment. In the material, the man is heard about his wife’s sex life and genitals, as well as the question he asked his assistant about whether he has masturbated.

“That was the limit. I continued to work a little longer, but it just got worse. I was afraid to be alone with him I came home with aches and pains from the stress I was feeling at work. I used to go to the bathroom to get nervous or cry. It was horrible, ”he continued.

After these circumstances, the woman applied for a license and gathered the strength to confront her boss. First, he asked him to leave the Presidency of the Confederation. He refused and in exchange offered him severance pay to buy an apartment, a paid course in Europe and a promotion within the CBF to a managerial position. She did not agree and the case continued with the lawyers involved. In that case, Caboclo asked her to tell the press that she had never been harassed and that her license was due to “family problems”.

“My dignity is priceless. I kept thinking about the women who would come after me, it was unacceptable to protect a stalker “, he stressed. In this sense, he asked himself: “I am thinking of the sponsors, could it be that they have the courage to continue sponsoring an entity ruled by a tyrant? Are the players going to want to play for an entity run by a stalker? “

The woman, who denied having a friendship with Caboclo – one of the defendant’s arguments for dropping the complaint – said her former boss never apologized for what happened and encouraged other women to raise their voices in similar cases. He also recalled that many situations he had to go through were experienced by other people and he indicted the ethics commission of the CBF, which sanctioned the leader with a one-year suspension for ” inappropriate behavior “and not for sexual harassment.

“I hope they will reconsider this and apply a more severe sanction,” he said of the situation in Caboclo, who could take over the chairmanship of the entity in September 2022 and that there is just a few days away. has reached an agreement with the public prosecutor of Rio de Janeiro not to be denounced for sexual and moral harassment: will donate 100,000 reais which will be donated to an entity which fights against violence against women and to another organization which saves abandoned animals.
