The Minister of Health of Sri Lanka, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, known to believe in witchcraft and promote the use of a supposed “Magic potion ” what would he cure coronavirus, tested positive for Covid-19 and will be isolated.

Another Sri Lankan minister, who also took the “magic potion” that made Wanniarachchi popular, also tested positive for Covid-19 this week.

Sri Lanka, out of 21 million inhabitants, on Friday approved the urgent use of the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, a few hours after Wanniarachchi tested positive, according to officials from the Ministry of Health.

The number of coronavirus infections in Sri Lanka has increased since October, from 3,300 cases of infections and 13 deaths. In total, the country already has around 57,000 infections and 278 deaths.
