The Supreme Chavist Court declared null the appointment of executives of PDVSA by the National Assembly of Venezuela

The Supreme Court of Justice Chavista declared null the appointment of the new directors of the State Petróleos of Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) appointed by the National Assembly, chaired by the country's interim president Juan Guaidó

The Constitutional Chamber of the highest court, controlled by the regime, set up Thursday "the absolute nullity and the absence of legal effects" of the designation made by the National Assembly, controlled by the opposition, members of PDVSA's board of directors and officers of its subsidiaries and joint ventures, claiming that their appointment is in flagrant contradiction with the constitution "the usurpation of the powers of the constitutional president of the Republic".

In his sentence, the magistrate Juan José Mendoza, President of the Constitutional Chamber, said that according to the Venezuelan legal system, the legitimate people "PDVSA direct, represents it and subscribes commitments to third parties"they are the greatest general Manuel Quevedo, president of the parastatal, who also serves as Minister of Petroleum, and 12 other members of the board appointed by Maduro.

The Supreme Court has also issued a series of precautionary measures, inter alia, the prohibition of naming any person to positions of management, operation and administration of the state oil company, its subsidiaries and joint ventures, except that "emanate from the legitimate directive" established in the sentence.

The Constitutional Chamber also urged the Public Prosecutor's Office to initiate the corresponding searches of all persons who have accepted the designations declared nulls, and urged the criminal appeal chamber of the highest court to initiate the corresponding proceedings for the transfer to Venezuelan territory of "Appointed citizens who are out of the country, for the purposes of criminal prosecution".

Mid February, Attorney General's Office announced that he was investigating an "Ad Hoc Administration Council" of PDVSA and the directors of its American subsidiary Citgo and more than a dozen new heads of mission in countries that recognize Guaidó as president in charge.

Guaidó, who has badumed the powers of the executive power and is pressuring Maduro to quit, It has the support of the United States and more than 50 countries who argue that the reelection of the socialist leader last year was illegitimate.
