The terrible nightmare that a crew of Air Europa experienced on arriving in Venezuela: "Everything happened to us" – 03/11/2019

Members of the crew of the Spanish airline Air Europa They denounced an attempt to attack while they were going to a hotel in Caracas where they were going to spend the night. The company then decided to stop sleeping in Venezuela and do it in the Dominican Republic.

The incident occurred when three people on a motorcycle started running after the van in which the crew was traveling. They tried to stop him, but they did not succeed and the driver managed to get to the hotel, where the workers came down quickly. There were several shots and moments of tension.

According to the Spanish newspaper El País, one of the members of the team reported on his WhatsApp account how the events had unfolded.

We started up the stairs of the hotel scared until they stopped the shots. Fortunately with the new crew arrived (…) the captain who was our savior. He managed to communicate with the base and mobilize everything to get us out of Caracas to both crews. When they confirmed we were leaving, two police trucks came to escort us to our two vans. "

"We had to go to the airport on the ground, squatting, so that we could not fire any shots, just in case they would breed, arriving at the airport all in the dark, guiding us with lanterns up to our plane. security that shines by its absence ".

José Roncero, delegate of Sepla Pilots Union to Air Europa, explained that no company worker was in Venezuela because the two crews – four pilots and 16 flight attendants – who were in Caracas are returned to Spain.

Whatever the case may be, the company issued a statement stating that its crew was out of danger and that the captain did not believe "that he heard any shots outside the premises".
