The Valentine's Day of 2018 was recorded forever in the minds of the students of the school Marjory Stoneman Douglas, in Parkland, Florida.
On February 14, 17 students were murdered at the hands of Nikolas Cruzin a former student who had been expelled from the center because he was undisciplined.
Currently, shooting faces 17 counts of premeditated murder and 17 counts of attempted murder, for what could be sentenced to death.
However, his gesture left an indelible wound on all the students and teachers who managed to survive.
It is for this reason that the school has decided to take a psychological step: from the day they have resumed clbades, students could have 14 dogs trained for therapeutic use.
"These are dogs trained for therapy"explained a school teacher."They are never unattended, they are always with a student and they are very tender and educated. They leave a feeling of comfort, calm and relaxation"
The dogs were brought to school by a group of animal organizations. The idea was that students caress them and live with them between clbades. School authorities have stated that, so far, the results have been more than favorable.
For this reason, they decided to pay tribute to the canines, reserve a place in the yearbook handed out at the end of the school year.
With the same backgrounds they described with the students, the dogs had a full page in the school directory and next to the photographs, each of their names was written.
The school received its first therapy dog, a poodle and a Bernese cross from the 3-month-old mountain called River, last July.
At that time, Diana Haneski, a high school librarian, said: "River will help in the future with a lot of difficulties and problems. I'm still trying to recover but the dogs have been very helpful"
In no time, dogs become real celebrities at school. Students have even created their own social networks.
"There is nothing that a dog can not fix", said one of the students.
The dogs will stay in school until the last child witnessed the mbadacre is made public, announced the directors.
