The Trump administration has greeted the Argentine people on the occasion of the Independence Day

"On behalf of the United States Government, I send my best wishes to the people of Argentina on the occasion of the 203 anniversary of their independence"said the communication signed by Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

In the letter, the government of President Donald Trump stressed that "the United States and Argentina have a close partnership, based on shared commitments to democracy and human rights, strong economic ties and cooperation in the field of science and technology ".

"I applaud Argentina for its leadership in promoting democracy, transparency, good governance and security in the region and around the world, as evidenced by its host of the success of the Summit of the leaders of the G20 in 2018 and its unbreakable support for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela through the Lima group "he maintained.

He added: "Happy Independence Day, Argentina! To the great Argentine people, health! Your friends in the United States wish you peace and prosperity for next year."

Pompeo will arrive in Argentina next week and hold a meeting with President Mauricio Macri, among other activities.
