The United States believes that Maduro will not be able to meet its oil commitment with Cuba

Frank Fannon, Undersecretary of State for Energy, said in an interview with the American newspaper El Nuevo Herald that the electrical problems affecting Venezuela could complicate the regime's ability to continue to subsidize the Cuban economy.

Maduro could find it difficult to send the 50,000 barrels he uses today to subsidize the Cuban economy.

"What we see in Maduro's widespread mismanagement is the inability to keep the light in the country. And this will affect all types of operations, including crude oil production"said the official.

"To send something, you must first produce it.", Fannon pointed out.

The Undersecretary of State for Energy told the Miami newspaper that his country was looking for new opportunities and evaluating the measures taken "the continuous looting of the badets of the Venezuelan people by Cuba".
