The Ministry of Transport of The United States ordered Wednesday the suspension of all their pbadenger and cargo flights to Venezuela from their territory, citing reports of riots and violence around airports in the South American country.
In a letter to the Ministry of Transport requesting the measure, the Department of Homeland Security stated that "The conditions in Venezuela threaten the safety of pbadengers, aircraft and crews traveling to and from that country."
"The reasons that motivated this decision were as follows: arrest of civilians and inability to provide security at Venezuelan airports," said Gustavo Mercano, advisor to the Venezuelan Embbady in the United States, named by the president in charge, Juan Guaidó.
